The project involves the development of a small building organization (houseboat for holidays and free time) composed of a dedicated multifunctional space (a vertical greenhouse) and what is necessary to host a family on vacation on the shores of the lake.
Specifically, it is a floating architecture located on the shores of Lake Iseo near a small natural harbor in the municipality of Costa Volpino in the province of Bergamo.
The settlement area is characterized by the presence of a sports complex called Centro Nautico Bersaglio intended for sailing and water sports and characterized by the presence of a large park area with a tourist and leisure function, and with an important aspect environmental and landscape.
The houseboat hosts four users.
Focus: hydroponic treatment of the vertical greenhouse, collection and recycling of rainwater, natural ventilation, sunshine and shading in living places.

By applying it to small businesses, such as domestic and family, vertical cultivation with hydroponic systems allows you to start thriving crops, allowing families to save on daily food shopping and to always have fresh food available.
This technique is perfect if you want to obtain maximum results in terms of speed and productivity of any plant. The nutrient solution is composed of water enriched with natural fertilizers and carefully dosed to ensure the right supply of microelements that will allow the plants to grow lush and strong.
A very important aspect of hydroponic cultivation is the amount of water to be provided for irrigation: in traditional cultures on earth the amount of water necessary to be able to grow and make fruitful is necessarily higher than that required by plants grown in hydroponics.
Water consumption is 10 (for traditional cultures) to 1 (for hydroponic cultures).
The project aims to embrace the themes of environmental sustainability and the possibility of "self-ostentation" of the building. This translates into a house on two levels, with an orientation of the main facade towards the south, a vertical greenhouse in the west wing which enjoys sunlight and lake breezes. The house is designed to be built using an XLAM load-bearing structure, a curved roof to collect rainwater, solar panels integrated into the windows for the production of electricity.

Roof
It's made with a laminated steel covering and a new registered technology that allows you to insert a breathable layer between the finish and the support. The steel sheets flex following the radius of the curvature and creating a linear pattern along the entire facade.

Level 1
there is the sleeping area of the house with a double bedroom and two single rooms. The rooms are connected by a corridor that runs along the entire axis. On the mezzanine there is the reading room while the large windows on three sides allow light and air to filter inside.

Level 0
On both sides of the house there are access to the house and the entrance to the vertical greenhouse. The entrance opens onto a living area with dining room and kitchen. The stairs lead both to the lower floor and to level -1 where the technical room is located. From the dining room, two large floor-to-ceiling windows allow you to overlook the greenhouse.
